Disadvantages

Composite shrinkage up to 3%
microleakage/secondary caries
Post-op sensitivity
Chipping lower wear resistance
Technique sensitivity - moisture control
Adverse biological reactions

Indications

• Restoration of Caries
• Repair of enamel and dentine fractures
• Tooth wear rehabilitation
• To mask mild discolouration
• As a temporary restoration for indirect veneer preparation

Contraindications

Insufficient tooth structure
deep subgingival caries
severely damaged/ heavily restored teeth
allergic reactions
